ERIC CARLOS
Founder & CEO
Eric has spent over 20 years in the development of large-scale power and energy projects globally. He has expertise in evaluating, developing, and optimizing systems of production and power assets in order to maximize the overall efficiency, environmental footprint, and operating profit. Before founding Avani Clean Energy, Eric was a co-founder and executive of Power-On-Demand, LLC. Prior to that, he established Audax Global Energy, LLC, an advisory and consulting company that initially focused on flare gas reduction and monetization, as well as alternative forms of energy that support the transition toward a Net Zero future.
Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, Eric served in a variety of leadership roles at publicly traded companies including Siemens AG, and Solar Turbines, Inc. Through his career, he held various leadership positions of increasing responsibility in Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Sales and Service and lived in both Europe and Asia. In his role at Siemens, he was part of the integration team that brought together the industrial Rolls Royce Gas Turbines and Dresser Rand into Siemens. He led the market growth of the expanded product and solution portfolio as Vice President of North and South America, with global responsibility for the FPSO market segment.
Eric earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California San Diego, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Miami. He resides in the Houston area, with his wife and daughters, and enjoys running, wine and world travel.
CAROL CONOMOS
Advisor
Carol Conomos is an industry veteran with experience in midstream operating companies including Energy Transfer/Sunoco Logistics and CMS Field Services, and heavy industrial OEMs, packagers, rental fleet and service companies including Dresser-Rand, Siemens, and SEC Energy Products and Services. She currently offers management consulting for energy companies, OEMs, private equity, distribution and service companies as principal of her consulting company, Horizon Consulting, LLC. Some areas of expertise include low carbon technologies, methane and GHG mitigation, asset optimization & circularity, ESG, equipment selection and bid evaluation, business growth and diversification strategy, and market intelligence. Carol’s diverse global experience includes P&L accountability, strategic planning, commercial and engineering leadership, and other operational roles.
Carol earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Engineering and Technology Management at the University of Tulsa, and completed the Energy Transfer Executive Leadership Development program at SMU Cox School of Business. She maintains a P.E. license in the state of Oklahoma, and completed the Energy Workforce Technology Council ESG Certificate Program. Carol serves as Secretary of the Gas Machinery Research Council Board, and has been a member of the Mechanical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board at the University of Tulsa since 2001. She previously served on the Board of Advisors and as a member of the Research Committee for Construction Industry Institute (CII). Carol resides in the greater Houston area, where she is a mother of two sons and enjoys investing, sports, and volunteering.
